Blis Content Management

For digital assets provided and maintained by sources outside the library (eBooks, eJournals, databases, and educational content) or even the internet as a whole Blis manages the import of catalogue information; policy based access control and authentication and security for the third party connection.

Import of catalogue information

Blis imports and stores catalogue information for third party sources either from files that have been provided or directly by interrogating the third party system. (If the third party source does not include catalogue information BLIS will still manage access and authentication.)

The first release of Blis will manage third party content catalogued using MARC for books and serials and Common Cartridge (SCORM) for educational content. Future Blis versions will add archival metadata (for historical archives).
